To all my red wine and burger lovers! Now as summer comes to an end, this will close the season with a bang! BUT you can enjoy this deliciousness year round. Enjoy this simple and extremely tasty meal with a partner or family.

Mini Burgers with Cabernet Onion Jam

Cabernet Onion Jam

Heat the avocado oil in a large skillet over medium heat.

Add the onion, sugar, and 1/4 teaspoon of the salt and cook, stirring occasionally, until the onions are very soft, about 15 minutes.

Add the cabernet sauvignon wine and balsamic vinegar and cook until the liquid is nearly gone, 12 to 14 minutes.

Once liquid is reduced to a jam life texture. Cover and set aside.
Mini Beef Burgers

Place the avocado oil into the cast iron/skillet to medium high or if using a grill; then brush the grates lightly with avocado oil.

Place the ground beef, 1/2 teaspoon salt, pepper, and blue cheese into a mixing bowl. Form into 9 mini patties. Press your thumb in the center of each burger to form an indentation.

In a cast iron, skillet, or using a grill; cook the patties 4-5 minutes, turn and then another 4 minutes.

Cook until mini burger is cooked to desired degree of doneness (160° for medium).
To Serve

Take the toasted buns and place the burger patty on top.

Spoon the onion jam and top of the bun and enjoy!
